Schools out

It’s all happening too fast. I’m still a 5th grader dammit, I can’t be going off to college. This isn’t real

I miss school.

I miss travelling in overcrowded buses to reach late everyday

I miss finishing math homework in the physics period, physics homework in the chemistry period and skipping chemistry homwork.

I miss getting caught for playing book cricket

I miss stealing and eating padu’s lunch in the chemistry period

I miss acing tests with zero preparation

I miss bunking class and going to inter-school competitions

I miss those lunch breaks where everybody would fight over my lunch cause my mom made the best chappatis

I miss wearing the school uniform

I miss passing notes through paper rockets

I miss stealing chalk pieces and using them as projectiles

I miss scribbiling on benches, making them unusable by anyone under 18

I miss mixing chemicals and destroying the chemistry lab one beaker at a time

I miss the feeling you get after you finished your last exam

I miss fighting over samosas at the canteen

I miss fighting over paying the bill at the local tea shop, even though the would only be for Rs. 6.50

I miss it all. I miss everything
